Zimmermann & Jansen Milestones
1850 The iron foundry and mechanical engineering company of DACIERS FRERES is established by the Dacier brothers, entrepreneurs from the Walloon region.
1873 The company is acquired by Messrs. Brandenburg and Zimmermann. The new owners add valves for the gas industry to the factory`s product range of papermaking machinery.
1877 This year marks the foundation of ZIMMERMANN & JANSEN. The engineer Wilhelm Jansen joins the company, which receives its current name after the Brandenburg brothers withdraw from the business.
1895 Leonard Zimmermann leaves the company, which is owned solely by the Jansen family and their descendants.
1927 With a workforce of 350, the company celebrates its 50th anniversary. Its chief customers now include gasworks, metallurgical plants and the chemical industry.
ZIMMERMANN & JANSEN products are exported to England, France, Belgium, Russia and the other countries.
1945 Assisted by a handful of employees, the family begins to rebuild the war-ravaged factory. Early contacts to Britain and the US evolve into a number of longstanding and successful business relationships.
1961 Opened a manufacturing plant in the USA
1972 Opened a manufacturing plant in South Africa
